We continue to forge ahead. Cameron went yesterday to pick up Kevin only to find a note on his van saying an emergency had come up and he'd be back in a few days. Cameron had already taken the rest of this week off, so he planned to go out to the house anyway and work ALONE on the roof. (I, of course, was freaking out about that.) Long story short….I left work at 10:30 and spent the rest of the day at the house helping him where I could. He got the felt on the roof over the worst leaking part, so we relaxed a bit about that. Then we spent several hours moving about 2-3 stacks of wood into the garage. What we couldn't get moved, we at least were able to cover. (Much of it is water soaked, but hopefully it can dry out enough to be stained this weekend. At least it's out of the elements, and I can be out of the direct sun when I work on it.)

As Cameron was on the roof, he discovered just how terrible of a job the carpenter had done. Several sections of the sheathing will have to be removed and the tail pieces for the rafters will have to be either taken off and put back on correctly, or they will have to be "shaved" so the sheathing will lay flat. (The carpenter never used a level.) Almost all of the fascia will have to be removed because it was put on in a total "cob job" fashion. The poor workmanship is just unbelievable. There's way more there that we will have to do (or do over as the case may be) than we had thought. Cameron is detailing everything in a notebook; and we have taken, and will continue to take, pictures of everything as we go for documentation.

But…!  It has not rained out there at all since, I think, Saturday….not even yesterday when it poured here! (I finally got "mad" spiritually, and claimed the power and authority that Jesus says is mine in His name, rebuked the impending storm and literally told it to split and go around us. And that's exactly what the storm did!! The enemy knew he couldn't touch our property, so he raged on the towns surrounding us. I couldn't stop thanking the Lord all day!!) Today they delivered the man lift, and Cameron found another guy from the Coffeehouse (Duane) who wants work; so he picked him up this morning and the two of them worked at moving the rest of the lumber inside, and then began the work on the roof. Cameron is confident that they can have it done within the next several days. (Weather pending, of course.)

Please continue to keep this project in your prayers. I saw for myself yesterday just how powerful the "effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man" can be.

I am praying and believe that the R&R house will be perfect. After all, Jesus was a carpenter, so I trust he will guide the earthly carpenter(s) He raises up!
      Love and prayers, Debbie
